פרופ' יובל כהן

רקע אקדמי

פרופ' יובל כהן הוא מרצה בכיר במחלקה להנדסת תעשיה וניהול במכללה האקדמית להנדסה אפקה בתל-אביב. לפני כן, עמד כעשור בראש תכנית הנדסת תעשיה וניהול באוניברסיטה הפתוחה (לאחר שהקים את התכנית). פרופ' כהן קיבל תואר דוקטור מאוניברסיטת פיטסבורג שבפנסילבניה (ארה"ב). את תואר המסטר (M.Sc.) קיבל מהטכניון בחיפה (בהצטיינות יתרה), ואת התואר הראשון קיבל מאוניברסיטת בן-גוריון. בחודש ינואר 2019 קיבל תואר פרופסור חבר מהועדה העליונה למנוי פרופסורים בתחום מדעים מדויקים והנדסה. לאחר סיום הדוקטורט, פרופ' כהן עבד מספר שנים כמתכנן אסטרטגי בכיר בחברת FedEx Ground (ארה"ב) והיה אחראי על תכנית החומש של הרחבת 24 מרכזי המיון ו 400 הסניפים. פרופ' כהן קיבל מספר פרסים על תרומתו לתכנון רשת הסניפים ומרכזי המיון. בשנת 2001 חזר לישראל ועבר לאוניברסיטה הפתוחה ובשנת 2014 עבר למכללה האקדמית להנדסה אפקה. תחומי המחקר וההוראה של פרופ' כהן נמצאים בשילוב שבין ניהול התפעול, לוגיסטיקה, וחקר-ביצועים. בין השאר הוא פרסם מאמרים רבים בתחומים של תכנון ובקרה על קווי ייצור, ניהול ותזמון פרויקטים, וקבלת החלטות במצבי אי-ודאות. פרופ' כהן כתב עם פרופ' אבי שטוב את הספר "מבוא להנדסת תעשיה" בהוצאת האוניברסיטה הפתוחה וכן מדריכי למידה במודלים סטוכסטיים ובניהול פרויקטים.

הוא חבר באיגודים הבינלאומיים: IIE INFORM,,PMI וכן באיגודים הישראלים: איל"ב, PMI-Israel, ואיגוד מהנדסי התעשיה.
