In September 2025, a delegation of Afeka faculty members and students visited the Technical University of Liberec (TUL) in the Czech Republic, as part of the expanding academic collaboration between the two institutions.

The visit bolstered the strategic partnership between Afeka and TUL, promoting academic excellence, joint research initiatives, and meaningful cultural exchange. The delegation exemplified Afeka’s commitment to fostering global connectivity and training the next generation of multidisciplinary engineers.

In the course of the visit, Afeka faculty members took part in professional meetings and academic workshops with TUL’s Faculty of Engineering, exploring opportunities for collaborative research in advanced engineering fields. This exchange emphasized the added value of combining theoretical foundations with applied engineering practice – a hallmark of Afeka’s educational approach.
The delegation’s student group spent two months at TUL, engaging in hands-on research across several engineering departments. Through involvement in laboratory work, academic courses, and international student activities, they gained exposure to cutting-edge technologies and real-world engineering challenges in a multicultural environment.

The students’ experience included Welcome Week activities, taking part in the university’s Buddy Program, visits to advanced research labs, and meetings with leading researchers – encounters that broadened their academic horizons, strengthened their professional skills, and deepened their understanding of engineering in a global context.

This delegation is part of Ofek – Afeka’s Skill Development Centers, which promote experiential learning and personal growth beyond the classroom. Through international collaborations, social-impact initiatives, hackathons, and work in advanced laboratories, students at Ofek develop innovative thinking, tackle global challenges, and build international networks that will serve them throughout their careers.

The international experience reflects the path Afeka paves for future engineers — a path characterized by curiosity, international engagement, academic excellence, and meaningful technological impact.
